DIGITAL PERFORMANCE

This project was unlike anything I had ever done before. I have projected still images and photographed people with the projection across their faces but not using videos and mapping. I originally had something completely different planned but when I ran into a few bumps in the road at the last minute I changed the content of my project. I decided to project onto a sphere which represents a cycle repeating itself, days repeating over and over. The visuals show a combination of things and feelings in my everyday life that are important little things, but I don't necessarily recognize them as being something that makes me who I am. I want this performance to make people feel happy and showcase the smaller things that make me. I struggled learning a new software while being remote, especially since there is a performative aspect to projection mapping, but I am very glad to have learned madmappers for future projects. I think that this project was successful, but I wish I was able to become more comfortable with the software and learn all the sneaky tips and tricks to further expand my performance and make it something I am more confident in. I struggled through this entire process (i think just because of the class being remote) but from the basics I learned I am very interested in projection mapping and would love to explore it more. I want to download the full version of madmapper so I can practice and create something I am more proud of.
